30 DAY CHALLENGE!   June 1-30, 2010

Doing a class every day for 30 straight days is a great way to deepen your practice, detoxify your body, improve your strength and flexibility, and let go of stress! If you are unfamiliar with our 30 Day Challenges, please read on to find out more...

How much does it cost?
There is no specific cost – you can use whichever pass you choose. The best value would be to buy a Month Unlimited Pass on  June 1st so that you can make the most out of your money... If you do 30 classes then it works out to be less than $5 a class – that’s a steal!

Is it healthy to do that much hot yoga?
Um, YEAH! You have to make sure, though, that you’re drinking enough water, eating properly and getting enough sleep. Thirty days of hot yoga will leave you happier, healthier and fitter than before... Trust us, you’ll see!

I’m going out of town, can I still sign up?
Ideally, you would make it here once a day for 30 days, but if you can’t then no big deal! We’ve got the “Moksha on the Go” CDs – 60 and 90 minute recordings of Moksha classes led by the founders of Moksha Yoga, Jessica Robertson and Ted Grand – so you can take your practice with you! Also, if you miss a day, well, no biggie! The idea is to make a commitment to your yoga practice, but we know that sometimes life gets in the way, so if you miss a class or two then that's okay!

What’s in it for me?
Aside from the great feeling you get from yoga, we’re going to reward all of our 30 Day Challenge participants with a wee party (or maybe it will turn into a big party, you never know!) at the end of the 30 Days. Additionally, if you do 25 out of 30 days, we’ll give you a discount on your next Month Unlimited pass.

I’m in! How do I sign up?
From the 15th of May there will be a sign-up sheet at the front desk. Sign your name there to make sure your name goes on the Challenge Countdown board.

Power of Movement Yoga Fundraiser - February 22nd, 2009

The Power of Movement fundraiser was a HUGE success!  Thanks to the efforts of so many people, we raised over $6000 - three times our original goal!  Big ups to our top five fundraisers, Sara Josselyn, Nasha Nijhiwan, Laura Starr, Kristen Sutherland and Adil Kassam, and to everyone else that participated, donated, and made this an unforgettable event.  We are incredibly proud of all of you.

We had lots of media coverage, so keep your eye out for us on CTV, Global, in Halifax Metro, and more!

Posture Tip of the Month Video

Sometimes in class it can be difficult to pick out all the yoga gems that instructors are providing! These posture tip videos, taught by Moksha teachers across Canada, allow for a closer look at how to move deeper in feeling what a postures is all about. This info can then be taken right back into the hot room and infused with breath for a whole new experience.
Check out the Posture Tip videos.

Green Tip of the Month Video

One of the central ideas in yoga philosophy is ‘ahimsa’ or ‘non-harming’. In the Moksha community we work together to practice ahimsa toward the environment. If you’d like to join us in this collective effort check out the monthly videos for some simple ideas on how to create less of an environmental impact in day to day living.

NEW Level II Class!

Starting on Tuesday, January 6th, we will be holding once-weekly Level II Moksha classes.  The Level II series builds on the Moksha series that we all know and love, throwing in more flow, and lots of fun new postures to challenge you and build your practice.  Level II classes will also emphasise the meditative side of Yoga, integrating some seated meditation and longer Savasanas.

Due to the challenging nature of this class, we recommend that participants have had a regular (ie - minimum three times a week) practice for at least five months.

Level II classes are on Tuesdays only, at 6:30pm (90 minutes).

Moksha Yoga Halifax Wins Fundraising Award - 13 November 2008

Through our Karma classes and the awesome efforts of our 30 Day Challengers, we raised $2700 for local breast cancer charity Titz 'n Glitz, making us the winner of their "Corporate Cups Bra Buster Award" - that is, we raised more money than anyone else!

Many thanks to all that played a part in making this happen - whether you made a donation, attended a Karma class, or collected pledges as a 30 Day Challenger, we truly appreciate your efforts!
